Event Description:

Chamber members are invited to a special Networking over Coffee with Resthaven.

Cambridge Resthaven is a charitable trust and not-for-profit organisation that has been supporting the local community for over 50 years. The Trust Board was established in 1966 by a collective of community groups - Lions, Rotary, Federated Farmers, RSA, the Country Women’s Institute, and the Cambridge Borough Council, who committed to raising funds to build a rest home for Cambridge.

Today, Resthaven operates across two campuses on Burns Street and Vogel Street, providing a continuum of care including rest home, hospital-level, and specialist dementia care, alongside a well-established and growing retirement village.

The retirement village includes 83 cottages across four distinct neighbourhoods, each developed at different times and offering its own unique character. This has more recently expanded to include supported living apartments, with Stage 1 completed in 2024. This stage introduced the Hanlin Apartment Building, The Coffee Post Café, and an on-site General Store, enhancing both resident lifestyle and community connection.
Stage 2 of the development is now underway and will deliver a further 21 supported living apartments, with completion expected in 2027.

Cambridge Resthaven continues to evolve as a community-focused organisation, committed to providing quality care, housing, and services that support older people to live well.

During the visit, guests will be taken on a guided tour of the village, including the café and on-site general store, along with an overview of the next stage of development. There will also be an introduction to the Friends of Resthaven Foundation, including the work it supports and its goals for the future.
