Essene Country Lodge

Essene Country Lodge offers more than accommodation, and was borne from necessity of having a tranquil place in the country for my husband Bruce and I - an escape from Auckland and our two businesses .
A place where we could connect back into a simple life in nature from our dairy farming days and where we grew up as kids in Cambridge and Kaipaki.
The orchard boasts at least 30 trees producing year around fruit and the seasonal vegetables grown in our gardens organically to provide the daily nutrients we require as do our raspberry vines.
Sharing this divine piece of paradise gives us great pleasure and we are always looking for ways to improve what my father started as he reshaped a large gully by sand mining.
Streams border our large green spaces where you can walk barefoot under the 100s (must be by now) of trees.
Our stock are now two friends barred rock chooks who continually forage for bugs free range and provide us with all the eggs we need.
Our guests are invited to hide away for a couple of days or use Essene for a tourism base as most sites are within an easy hours drive.
Come visit. Bring a picnic, or book our table of eight and bring your own food and cook on the bbq for a small charge. Let your kids run free in the paddocks and yet in your site always.
